Zoom will allow participants to interact with each other via audio and video on their computer, tablet or smartphone app in a real virtual meeting (optional alternative audio available by telephone) where we will be able to see and listen to each other in real dialog.

Speaker

Cory Schlesinger, of Jungle Care RVA, has a background in medicine, but was able to retire and now is a full time investor. She had heard of professional organizing and decided to join NAPO. She has always lived an eco-friendly lifestyle from a young age, engaged responsible disposal, and avoided over-consumption of useless products.

The presentation will begin with a brief discussion of source reduction, as resource conservation is one of the most important steps that can be taken as an individual. There will also be a short discussion about avoiding food waste, as rotting food produces a large amount of the greenhouse gas methane.

This will be followed by discussion of ethical consumption, minimalism, and responsible disposal. Developing green practices will focus on avoiding consumerism and over-consumption. There will be some examples of niche recycling; upcycling; and repurposing of plastic. Another topic is how to segue into a green discussion with new clients to determine their level of interest.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, we will only cancel if power is out for necessary managers, in which case, meeting registrants will be emailed.
